A warm good afternoon to all.

With delight I present this  22nd Annual report which enumerates the labour of love, activities and achievements of the School during the academic year 2019-20. With the blessings of  God Almighty , our progress has an upward trend and it is my pleasure to inform you that more and more parents flock to this temple of learning making Baselios Vidyanikethan  as the first choice for their wards.

The progress of the school depends on the committed faculty, support of the administrative staff, sufficient resources, responsible students and indeed the co- operative parents. Above  all we are lucky that we are enjoying the full support of a qualified, energetic and enthusiastic Manger, Rev. Fr. Vinod George.

  1. Scholastic activities

Once again the Baselians proved its academic excellence by securing 100% pass result both in X and XIIth  board exams. In  class XII out of 18 students appeared, 10 students secured distinction, 6 students got first class and 2 got second class.  In Xth out of 43 students appeared, 24 students secured distinction, 15 students got first class and 4 students got second class.

After the summer vacation, the school officially re- opened on 6th June 2019. On this day of ‘Preveshanolsavam , all the 61 students of X and XII were honoured  by the School Management  with mementos  for their excellent performance in board exams.

 

  1. School Parliament

The student Parliament provides opportunities of practical experiences to students on democracy. Under the guidance of our manager, the school parliament election was conducted on20th June.  Students from class VI to XII casted their votes. The Investiture ceremony to induct the prefectorial team was held on 24th June and there by the students council got activated. Master. Thushar T.K of Class XII was elected as Head boy and Ms. Arlene Biju Thomas of class XII as Head girl.

  1. Faculty improvement programme.

Staying updated is the key to success in any field especially in the field of education. Our teachers including  Principal constantly strive to stay updated by attending workshops and various training programmes.

Our teachers from all departments attended different workshops, training and capacity building   programmes on English, Maths, Science, Social Science, Physical Education and Value Education conducted by CBSE,CKSC, Oxford and other  private publishers.

  1. Kinder Garten Section

 We always provide a joyful atmosphere to our tiny tots. Play way methods of teaching and activity oriented learning methods have been followed in our KG section. This year several events and celebrations were conducted.

  1. We celebrated Father’s day on January 17th.
  2. Competition for Malayali Mannan and Manka were conducted during Onam celebration.
  3. A field trip to Thuppampady Fire station is organized on 24th
  4. Art exhibition competition was conducted on 26th September
  5. In connection with “Swatch Bharath” we celebrated Sevanavaram program on 3rd
  6. On Children’s day, Fancy dress competition was held.
  7. On 19th November picnic program was arranged to Sparkeyes Lulumall.
  8. Joy giving day was celebrated, by visiting Swasraya Rehabilitation Centre. They distributed cakes to the inmates and entertained them by colourful programs.
  9. Christmas celebration was on 20th December .Our kids participated in angel and Santa competition.

                                               

 

  1. Akhila Kerala Balajana Sakhyam Unit

 

 Our Akhila Kerala Balajana Sakhyam Unit was inaugurated on 6 th June by Shri. P V Rajappan Patron of  Mulanthuruthy unit. Our students participated in two days camp held at Santhigiri Ashramam.  Kum. Ann Mary Benny got second place in English and first place in Malayalam extempore in  Ernakulam Region level  Sargoltasavam

 and awarded with certificates and  Rs./1000 as cash prize for P. C Alexander Memorial Speech Competition.

  1. Ann Maria Saji first position in Malayalam recitation
  2. Karthik M R third position in Light music
  3. Arjun Mani Nair second position in Monoact
  4. Sports and games

Education is partial without sports. Ample opportunities are  being provided to our children to play and prove their mettle in various sports and games at school level, CBSE cluster and CKSC level competitions.

 The two days Annual Athletic Meet ‘Gallop 2019’ was held on 14th  & 15th of October.

 Our Senior and Junior students participated in Kho- Kho Competition conducted by CBSE cluster and CKSC Annual Sports Meet.

  The 5th Inter School All Kerala Baselian Sevens Soccer Football Tournament was conducted on 14th and 15th Nov. Shri. Tom Joseph, National Volleyball player inaugurated the function. 12 teams from various schools in Kerala participated in the tournament.

  1. Celebrations and Events.

Being a diverse country the students need to know what each festival means. Apart from building relationship and friendship, such celebration will bring happiness and love amongst the students.

  1. We observed reading week from 19th to 26th  
  2. International yoga day was celebrated on 21st
  3. The International day against drug abuse was observed on 26th
  4. Bulletin board Competition was Conducted on  8th  
  5. A book fair was held at the school auditorium on 10th
  6. Independence Day was celebrated on 15th

 

  1. The Art Fest ‘Dhanak 2019’ conducted with pomp and show.
  2. One medical camp was organized on 22nd August under the supervision of MOSC Medical College Kolenchery. 
  3. Teachers day was celebrated on 5th September with variety programs .
  4. Onam celebration “Thumbapoov 2019” was held on 7th
  5. Arts and Science exhibition “SRISHTI” was held on 26th September 2019.
  6. Children’s day was celebrated on 13th November . A colourful rally was also conducted to vettickal junction
  7. A parental class was organized for our parents on 23rd Mr. K.V.Anoopkumar consultant psychologist, Wellness Hospital, Ernakulam led the class.
  8. Constitution day was celebrated on 26th
  9. Fit India programme was also conducted in the month of November.
  10. In order to promote the postal development and making the students aware about the post office working system, the invitation letters of our Dayara Perunnal to the parents were written by students on postcards and posted the cards by themselves.
  11. Vegetable seeds supplied by the Krishi Bhavan Mulanthuruthy were distributed to all  
  12. Our students participated in” Padam Onnu Padathekku” a project organized by Mulanthuruthy Krishibhavan for giving awareness about the sowing and harvesting method of Agriculture.
  13. Students of class VIII conducted a debate on water conservation
  14. The school organized a training programme for making paper pen and paper bags in order to reduce the use of plastics.
  15. One of our students Kum. Ann Mariya Saji has been selected by Plastic control mission to sing the theme song in front of Hon. Governor of Kerala and there by entering the step to Rashtrapathy Bhavan, Delhi.
  16. The most important event we faced during this academic year was the CBSE inspection for affiliation renewal. It was on 9th July .
  17. All Class IX students participated in AHA Hands only CPR training at CIAL Nedumbassery on 16th November 2019.

 

8.Club Activities

Club activities help to develop some specific skills in children that are crucial for their carrier. It helps to  develop leadership skills in students.

Inauguration of various clubs held on 17/07/2019, followed by language club programs Sanskriti 2019. In addition to this we have 18 other clubs once in a week, which function for one hour.

9.Picnic and Tours

A two days tour program to Bangalore Mysore was arranged for students from VIII to XII. One day trip to Silver Storm was conducted for all other classes.

 

 

  1. Social Service activities in connection with Nallapadam

Our students are committed to the specific  ideology of serving the distressed class of society and we have carried out several such activities this year too.

  1. The Baselian family could collect an amount of 1,78,646  for the major  Iortic Valve Heart Surgery of our former student Mr. Ajay Raju.
  2. This year we adopted three families from Mulanthuruthy Panchayat and distributed provisions on the inauguration of Snehapoorvam Baselios Project. This contribution process is going on every month by each class.
  3. We also distributed Onam kit to five poor families
  4. Our students contributed a good sum of money for constructing houses and study materials for flood victims, in Wayanad.
  5. Our students visited ‘Ashrayam Charitable Trust and handed over an amount Rs.5000 to them.
  6. Related to Christmas celebrations our students visited Mithram Charitable Special School and Rehabilitation Centre. Christmas cakes were distributed and children performed variety programs to make them merry.

 

  1. PTA

The first PTA executive committee was held on 4 th July. Parents representatives from KG to Class 12  attended the meeting.Rev.Fr. Jose Vettikuzhy was selected as President and Mrs. Minitta Moncy was selected as Secretary of the PTA for session 2019-20. This year we could purchase 250 chairs worth Rs./ 1,05,000  using PTA fund. PTA fund is also used for giving cash award, mementos and certificates to all the proficiency winners and also for the distribution of tea and snacks on annual day.

                                                         

  1. Management

We are blessed with such an amazing management that no other school can even imagine. Our Manager Rev. Fr.Vinod George always gives us inspiration and motivation by his humble words of appreciation. For making the students more comfortable, this year many things were provided for them. One more new bus was purchased for the students. Computer lab was renovated by installing four new systems. A lot of books worth rupees 10,000 were purchased for the library. In addition to this the  library room was renovated and made it bigger. Our sincere gratitude towards the management.

  1. Conclusion

On this memorable occasion as we recount our success with pride and happiness, we wish to dedicate all our achievements to the committed efforts of a committed   team called the Baselian Family. We humbly salute our visionary leaders of the past and great ones of the present and seek divine grace and blessings to guide us in all our future endeavors. On this special occasion I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our manager for the unconditional support and timely guidance extending to me for executing my responsibilities in a free and smooth way.
